“How much should I charge?” is the question every Nigerian designer asks — and getting it wrong in either direction costs you. Price too low and you attract clients who waste your time; price too high with no proof and the chat goes cold. This guide gives you real 2026 naira ranges, then a simple way to set your number with confidence.

What graphic designers actually charge in Nigeria

These are typical per-project prices in 2026. Your rate moves with your experience, your city, the client’s budget, and how fast they need it.

The 5 things that change your price

  • Scope. One logo is not the same as a logo + colours + fonts + social templates. Write down exactly what’s included.
  • Revisions. “Unlimited changes” is how projects die. Quote for 2–3 rounds, then charge for more.
  • Usage. A logo for a roadside shop and a logo for a company that will print 50,000 packs are not the same value. Price for the usage.
  • Turnaround. “I need it tomorrow” is a 30–50% rush fee, not a favour.
  • Proof. A strong portfolio and real client vouches let you charge more without flinching.

How to set your own rate (the floor-price method)

Never quote a number you’d resent doing the work for. Start from your floor:

  1. Add up your monthly costs — data, electricity/fuel, software, transport, a little profit. Say ₦180,000.
  2. Estimate the hours you can realistically bill in a month (not 160 — more like 60–80 after chasing clients and admin). Say 70.
  3. Floor hourly rate = ₦180,000 ÷ 70 ≈ ₦2,570/hour. Round up to ₦3,000.
  4. Estimate hours per job and multiply. A logo that takes 10 focused hours → ₦30,000 floor. Your real quote should sit above it.

This stops you from accidentally working for free, which is the most common mistake new designers make.

Per project or per hour?

For most Nigerian design work, quote per project. Clients want to know the total, and you get rewarded for being fast and good rather than slow. Keep the hourly number private — it’s just your sanity check.

Package your work into three tiers

When clients see one price they negotiate it. When they see three, they pick one. A simple structure:

  • Basic — the core deliverable (e.g. logo + 2 revisions).
  • Standard — Basic + colours, fonts and 2–3 social templates (~1.8× Basic).
  • Premium — Standard + brand guide, stationery and priority turnaround (~3× Basic).

This is exactly how a fixed-price service on iSabi works — the price is shown upfront, so there’s no haggling in the DMs.

Get paid safely

Take a deposit before you start — 50% is standard, 70% for new clients. Deliver watermarked or low-res previews, and release the final files only when the balance clears. A clear brief and a deposit filter out 90% of time-wasters.

The bottom line

Charge for the value and the usage, not the hours it happened to take. Set a floor you won’t go below, package your work in threes, and let proof — portfolio and vouches — carry the higher numbers. When you’re ready, publish your portfolio on iSabi and put your prices where clients can actually find them.
